1. INTRODUCTION AND ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

 

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website money-coach.ca and all services offered by Money Coach, operated by Maria Diacon as a sole proprietorship in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

By accessing this website, booking a consultation, attending a workshop or speaking event, or using any service offered through money-coach.ca, you agree to be fully bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please discontinue use of this website and its services immediately.

These Terms should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy, also available on money-coach.ca.

2. ABOUT OUR SERVICES

 

Money Coach offers the following services:

  • Free educational content published on money-coach.ca covering personal finance topics for Canadians

  • A complimentary 30-minute introductory consultation (one per person, see Section 5)

  • Paid one-on-one consultations offered on a per-session, hourly, or package basis

  • Speaking engagements and financial literacy workshops available for organizations, community groups, and workplaces

All services are provided by Maria Diacon, who holds a Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) designation and is registered with the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) of Quebec.

3. EDUCATIONAL CONTENT DISCLAIMER

3.1 Informational Purpose Only

 

All content published on money-coach.ca — including articles, guides, tools, event materials, and any information shared during consultations — is intended solely for general educational and informational purposes.

Nothing on this website or communicated through our services constitutes:

  • Personalized financial advice

  • Investment advice

  • Tax advice

  • Legal advice

  • Insurance recommendations

  • Any form of regulated financial planning

3.2 No Advisory Relationship

 

Use of this website or attendance at any event does not create a financial advisory, fiduciary, or professional relationship between you and Money Coach or Maria Diacon.

3.3 Your Responsibility

 

You are solely responsible for any financial decisions you make, including decisions that may be influenced in whole or in part by information obtained through this website or our services. We strongly encourage you to consult with a licensed professional before making any significant financial decision.

4. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

 

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Money Coach and Maria Diacon shall not be held liable for any financial loss, damage, missed opportunity, or negative outcome resulting from your use of or reliance on any content, consultation, workshop, or other service provided through money-coach.ca

  • We make no guarantee that the information provided is complete, current, or applicable to your specific situation

  • We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or actions of any third-party platforms referenced on this website or used to deliver our services, including but not limited to Calendly, PayPal, Wix, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of our services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

5. FREE 30-MINUTE INTRODUCTORY CONSULTATION

 

5.1 Eligibility

 

Money Coach offers one (1) complimentary 30-minute consultation per individual. This offer is available once per person and may not be redeemed more than once under any circumstances.

5.2 Purpose

 

The free consultation is intended to allow prospective clients to get acquainted with our services, ask general questions, and determine whether a paid consultation is appropriate for their needs.

​

5.3 No Obligation

 

The free consultation carries no obligation to purchase any additional service.

​

5.4 Scheduling

 

The free consultation must be booked through our booking platform at money-coach.ca. Standard cancellation and rescheduling terms apply (see Section 7).

6. PAID CONSULTATIONS — PRICING AND PAYMENT

 

6.1 Pricing Structure

 

Paid consultations are offered in the following formats:

  • Hourly rate — billed per hour of consultation time

  • Per session — a fixed rate for a defined session

  • Packages — bundled sessions offered at a combined rate

Current pricing is displayed on money-coach.ca and is subject to change. Prices confirmed at the time of booking will be honoured for that booking.

6.2 Payment

 

All payments are processed securely through PayPal. By completing a payment, you agree to PayPal's Terms of Service. Money Coach does not store or have access to your payment details.

Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.

6.3 Refund Policy

 

All sales are final. Money Coach does not offer refunds.

Given that a complimentary 30-minute consultation is available to all new clients at no cost, paid consultations are non-refundable once booked.

Exceptions will not be made for partial sessions, dissatisfaction with outcomes, or change of mind.

In the event that Money Coach cancels a paid session without offering a rescheduled alternative, a full refund will be issued.

7. CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING — CONSULTATIONS

 

7.1 Client Cancellations

​

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled consultation will not be charged

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled consultation, or failure to attend without notice (no-show), will result in full forfeiture of payment

  • No exceptions will be made for late cancellations regardless of circumstance

​

7.2 Client Rescheduling

​

  • Clients may reschedule a consultation up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled time at no charge

  • Rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the scheduled time will be treated as a cancellation and full payment will be forfeited

  • Each booking may be rescheduled a maximum of two (2) times. A third rescheduling request will not be accommodated and the session will be forfeited without refund

7.3 Cancellations or Rescheduling by Money Coach

​

  • If Money Coach needs to cancel or reschedule a consultation, we will provide as much notice as reasonably possible

  • Rescheduling by Money Coach will be offered at no additional cost

  • If a rescheduled time cannot be agreed upon, a full refund will be issued

  • Money Coach is not liable for any additional costs, losses, or inconveniences caused by a cancellation on our part beyond the refund of the session fee

8. SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS AND WORKSHOPS

 

8.1 Booking and Deposit

 

All speaking engagements and workshop bookings require a non-refundable deposit ranging from 25% to 50% of the agreed total fee, as determined and communicated at the time of booking confirmation.

The deposit amount will be clearly stated in writing prior to payment.

The remaining balance is due no later than the date of the event, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

8.2 Cancellation by the Client or Organization

​

  • Cancellations made with more than one (1) week's notice prior to the event date will result in forfeiture of the deposit only. No additional charges will apply.

  • Cancellations made less than one (1) week before the event date will result in forfeiture of the full deposit and may result in additional charges if preparation costs have been incurred

  • The minimum required notice period for cancellation is one (1) week

8.3 Cancellation by Money Coach

 

In the unlikely event that Money Coach must cancel a confirmed speaking engagement or workshop:

  • We will provide as much notice as reasonably possible

  • A full refund of all amounts paid will be issued

  • Money Coach will not be liable for any additional costs incurred by the client or organization as a result of the cancellation

8.4 Event Details and Responsibilities

 

The client or organization booking a speaking engagement or workshop is responsible for:

  • Providing an appropriate and safe venue

  • Ensuring the necessary technical setup (projector, microphone, etc.) unless otherwise agreed

  • Communicating accurate attendance estimates in advance

​

9. USER CONDUCT

 

By using this website and participating in any service offered by Money Coach, you agree to conduct yourself in a respectful and professional manner at all times.

The following conduct is strictly prohibited:

  • Abusive, threatening, harassing, or discriminatory language or behaviour toward Maria Diacon or any other participant, whether in person or during virtual sessions

  • Sharing false, misleading, or fraudulent information during consultations or bookings

  • Recording any consultation session without prior written consent from Money Coach

  • Using our services for any unlawful purpose

  • Attempting to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to this website or its systems

Money Coach reserves the right to terminate any consultation or session immediately and without refund in the event of a breach of these conduct standards.

Repeated or serious violations may result in a permanent restriction from booking future services.

10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

 

All content published on money-coach.ca — including but not limited to written articles, guides, educational materials, workshop content, and visual elements — is the original work of Maria Diacon and Money Coach.

You are welcome to share or reference any content from money-coach.ca provided that:

  • Clear and visible credit is given to Money Coach and/or Maria Diacon

  • A link back to money-coach.ca is included where possible

  • The content is not altered, misrepresented, or used for commercial purposes without prior written consent

11. THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS AND LINKS

 

This website may reference or link to third-party websites, tools, or platforms. These links are provided for convenience and informational purposes only.

Your use of third-party platforms — including Calendly, PayPal, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Wix — is governed by their respective terms and conditions.

12. AVAILABILITY OF SERVICES

 

Money Coach reserves the right to:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue any service or content on money-coach.ca at any time and without prior notice

  • Change pricing for services with reasonable notice posted on the website

  • Refuse service to any individual at our sole discretion

We will make reasonable efforts to ensure the website is available and functioning, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

13. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION

 

13.1 Governing Law

 

These Terms and Conditions are governed exclusively by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13.2 Jurisdiction

 

Any dispute, claim, or legal proceeding arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of our services shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Montreal, Quebec.

13.3 Informal Resolution

 

Before initiating any formal legal action, we encourage you to contact us directly at maria@money-coach.ca to attempt to resolve the matter informally. We are committed to addressing concerns fairly and promptly.

14. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

 

Money Coach reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

Your continued use of money-coach.ca or our services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

We encourage you to review this page periodically.
